Update from fire and county emergency officials Tuesday.

. It burned through around 34000 acres and destroyed approximately 1700 homes and businesses. The 2011 Bastrop County Complex fire was the most destructive wildfire in Texas history. The Bastrop County Complex fire ignited on September 4 2011 and was the most destructive wildfire in state history.

Three separate fires started on September 4 2011 as a result of strong winds caused by nearby Tropical Storm Lee and merged into one large blaze that burned east of the city of Bastrop. Very friendly and courteous. The City of Bastrop Fire Department was established in 1894.

The wood was great. I tried 3 different vendors this year and Bastrop firewood was by far my favorite. The 32000-acre inferno destroyed over 1600 homes and killed two people.

1 day agoA wildfire in Bastrop County Texas has grown significantly in just a day. Tuesday is likely linked to the Bastrop fire that has resulted in local road closures and the evacuation of more than 250 families in Bastrop County as of Wednesday morning. I go through a lot of firewood every year about 2 cords.
